Stamp Club plans monthly meeting

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain, between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Niagara Lions to host annual rifle and meat raffle

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Lions Club will sponsor its annual winter meat and rifle raffle at the Country Bar on Saturday, Feb. 1. The meat raffle will be during the afternoon and will be followed by the drawings for the firearms and other prizes. This is always a great event with excellent meat and exceptional rifles and other prizes, which will be a terrific way to battle the wintertime blues and blahs. DCCT sets performances

NORWAY — Tickets are available for the Dickinson County Community Theater production of “Sideways Stories From Wayside School,” adapted by John Olive from the book by Louis Sachar. Shows will be at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and Jan. 24-25; and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Jan. 26 at the Norway High School Fine Arts Center. The play is directed by Marti Nord. K of C donates coats

The Iron River Knights Of Columbus Council 2300 recently had its first “Coats For Kids” program at the West Iron County School. The event was chaired by Deputy Grand Knight Dennis Cerney and was assisted by Knights Don Bastianello, Grand Knight Mark Stauber and Tim Peruzzi. One hundred and thirty-three coats were distributed to middle and high school students. The school staff — including Principal Mike Berutti, Kathy Kinner, School Deputy Jeremy Allen, along with other teachers — were very helpful and appreciative of the gifts of coats, as were the recipient students. Post 50 fish fry Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of three-piece cod or eight fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and cole slaw. Cost is $14 per plate. Dine-in or take out is available.
