Post 50 to host fish fries
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of three-piece cod or eight fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and cole slaw. Cost is $14 per plate. Dine-in or take out is available. Northwoods Geology Club meets Oct. 23
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center in Florence. This will be the final meeting of the year. The club will resume meetings in April. No speaker is lined up for the meeting at this time. If a presentation is scheduled, it will be announced on the club’s Facebook page. All ages are welcome to attend. Door prizes are drawn for at the end of the meeting. Thank to all who participated in the monthly meetings and the club’s field trips.
Hermansville Post 340 to host Veterans Appreciation dinner
HERMANSVILLE — The Veterans Appreciation Dinner is set for 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Post 340 Legion Hall in Hermansville. The meal will feature a spaghetti dinner. There will also be a 50-50 raffle drawing. Cost is $10 per plate, but all veterans will be served for free. Everyone is welcome to attend.
