Community chorus rehearsals to start

KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus is looking for adults and children to participate in the chorus. Rehearsals for adults will begin Tuesday, May 7, for the 2024 “Music Under the Stars” summer concert. All rehearsals will be from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. There is no charge for membership in the chorus, and there are no auditions. However, prospective new members should possess some knowledge of choral singing. Kingsford Key Club pie auction

Iron Mountain-Kingsford Kiwanis and Iron Mountain-Kingsford Rotary every year helps the Kingsford Key Club with a great dual club fundraiser. The students bake the pies and come and show off the pies. Members of Kiwanis and Rotary have bidding wars in a live auction. Usually, the new president of Key Club gets to host the event and they make great money in less than one hour. Kiwanis members and Rotarians enjoyed bidding on the about 25 pies and made $2,300 for the Key Club. The Key Club would like to thank Kiwanis and Rotary for their support every year.

Glacial Gardeners plant sale on May 25

FLORENCE, Wis. — The popular annual plant sale by the Glacial Gardeners, a non-profit organization, will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 25, in the pole barn at the Florence County Fairgrounds, on County Road N just south of Florence. This is a rain-or-shine event. The doors do not open until 9 a.m. but participants are encouraged to come early and get a place in line, as the plants do sell fast.
