Apollo 11 Mission live stream Monday at the library

Marquette musician Troy Graham will perform at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Upcoming events at the Dickinson County Library include:

Monday

— Apollo 11 Mission Live Stream, 3 to 4 p.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

The library will join NASA and STARnet for a live webcast event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Mission, featuring a guided re-creation of the Apollo 11 voyage that landed the first astronauts on the moon.

Tuesday

— Namaste in Space, 1 to 2 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Patrons of all ages are invited to relax and stretch with yoga poses inspired by space. Sponsored by an anonymous donor.

Wednesday

— Directed Discussions, 10 a.m. to noon, Solomonson Branch Library in Norway.

This is an opportunity to speak with Library Director Megan Buck in an open forum. Stop by to say hello and bring questions, suggestions, or concerns regarding library services. No appointment is necessary.

–Soundz of Time: Magic Moments, 6 to 7 p.m., Solomonson Branch Library in Norway.

They will play a variety of songs. All ages welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Thursday

— Out to Launch at Out to Lunch, 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., parking lot across from the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

The library will provide fun, space-themed crafts for children to make while listening to the various musicians at the Out to Lunch concert series. The group will be at a table near the stage. For all ages. Sponsored by Edwards Automotive.

— Moon Walk Celebration Space Trivia, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of man walking on the moon by testing your knowledge of all things space. For high-schoolers and adults.

Saturday, July 20

— National Moon Day with S3Arts, 10 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Kids and teens in third through 12th grades can paint “sponge and splatter” designs of the moon, planets, and comets on canvas boards using sponges, toothbrushes, and toothpicks. Registration is required, with program attendance capped at 25 participants. Registration is open. Sponsored by Hall Orthodontics.

Sunday, July 21

Summer Space Cinema, 1:30 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Keep cool during the hot days of summer by watching movies at the library. Each week will feature a different space-themed film. All movies will be rated G, PG, or PG-13, so the whole family can enjoy them together. Go to www.dcl-lib.org for a full schedule. — Out to Launch at Out to Lunch, 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., parking lot across from the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

— Baking Soda Rockets, 1 p.m. at the Solomonson Branch Library in Norway and 6 p.m. at the library in Iron Mountain.

Kids in third through eighth grades will create their own rockets using simple science and common household supplies. They will then launch the rockets outdoors with safety rules in place. For each session, they will meet at the library branches first and then walk to the launch sites. Pre-registration is required. Sponsored by Mary and Tim Endelman and Lake State Land Surveying Inc.
