FAITH NEUENS

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence High School senior Faith Neuens was chosen by staff and her peers as the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen award recipient for 2019-20.

This program honors an outstanding young person in the senior class who demonstrates qualities such as dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities.

She is a deserving choice, as evidenced by her outstanding classroom achievement, National Honor Society and student council leadership, scholar-athlete performance, and community service through TORPEDOS and her church.

Once selected, she participated in the scholarship portion of the program by completing and submitting a timed, original essay for competition.

The focus of this year’s topic was “You and your peers are our nation’s leaders of tomorrow. How would you energize America’s youth to fully engage as effective citizens?” If chosen as an essay winner, she would read her essay at the award ceremony in the spring and would continue on for possible state and national judging.

Neuens plans to attend Michigan Technological University in Houghton to pursue a biomedical engineering degree. She is the daughter of Daryl and Jodi Neuens of Aurora, Wis.
