Iron River — Aspirus Iron River Hospital invites all women to “Listen to Your Heart,” a free Aspiring Women girls’ night out event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Young’s in Iron River.

Heart failure affects nearly 6 million Americans and is the leading cause of hospitalization in people older than 65.

Learn about this common and potentially fatal condition with Aspirus Iron River family physician Dr. Taki Rida and nurse practitioner Kristen Meske. Together, they will explain the risk factors, symptoms and treatment options, as well as the lifestyle modifications that can help avoid or manage heart failure. 

Before their presentation, participants may enjoy heart-healthy appetizer samples and informational exhibits by Aspirus Iron River Hospital’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team and the Aspirus Iron River Hospital stroke team. 

Everyone who attends the free event will take home an Aspiring Women gift and will have the chance to win other prizes.
