Mroz to speak at Northwoods Geology Club meeting

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center in Florence. This month’s meeting will feature guest speaker Thomas Mroz, who will present on the Champion Mine, a historic iron mine in Champion and highlight part of the Upper Peninsula’s mining history. Anyone interested in geology, mining history, environmental science and local mineral collecting is encouraged to attend. All meetings are open to the public, with no dues or fees.

Post 145 to host breakfast Sunday

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 28, at the hall.
