Decker tapped as board chair for Forward Financial Credit Union

NIAGARA, Wis. — Dan Decker was elected chair of the Forward Financial Credit Union board at the reorganizational meeting April 28.

A board member since October 2004, Decker has served in all positions on the Forward Financial Credit Union board and also was director at Evergreen Credit Union in Menasha, Wis., from 1989 to 2003.

Retired since 2013, he was employed at Paper Converting Machine Company as general accounting manager and previously worked at the Niagara Mill as controller.

Decker and his wife, Linda, reside in Niagara, Wis. They have two daughters: Beth, an echocardiographer at Bellin Health in Green Bay; and Alison (Justin), a software testing engineer at Humana in De Pere, Wis.

His community service activities include Niagara city alderman; accountant for St. Anthony’s Parish, Sacred Heart in Aurora, Wis., and St. Margaret’s Parish in Pembine, Wis.; Knights of Columbus council treasurer; Niagara Lions Club treasurer; past treasurer for Lions District 27 B2 (Northeastern Wisconsin); past director of the Sturm Humanitarian Foundation; and past finance chairman for the 2014 Niagara Centennial Celebration.

Forward Financial Credit Union started in 1948 as Niagara Papermill Employees Credit Union in Niagara. It now has branches in Iron Mountain and in Pembine and Marinette, Wis.
