KINGSFORD — There were no injuries after a kitchen fire Tuesday on the 200 block of Hooper Street in Kingsford.

Officers were called at 1 p.m. when smoke filled the lower apartment of a two-story duplex, according to a release from Kingsford Public Safety.

Officers forced entry into the locked apartment and extinguished the fire with minimal damage to the structure, the release stated.

All occupants of the duplex were unharmed.

KPS were assisted by the Iron Mountain Police Department, We Energies, DTE Energies and Beacon Ambulance before returning to the station at 2:35 p.m.
