Roof collapses at ReStore in Iron River

IRON RIVER — Heavy snow loads likely led to the roof collapse Monday at the Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Iron River.

No one was injured in the collapse, according to a news release from the Habitat for Humanity Menominee River affiliate. Adjacent properties were temporarily evacuated due to the risks of natural gas leaks and potential fires, the news release stated.

The ReStore will be closed indefinitely while assessing the full extent of damages. Donations and items available for purchase in support of the store still can be done at the Kingsford location.

For more information, contact the Menominee River office at 906-779-5377 or email to hfh@habitatmr.com.

Starting at $3.50/week.
