Plans for about $100K in electrical work at Lake Antoine Park

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County plans to improve the reliability of electrical service at Lake Antoine Park before the next camping season, authorizing G. Brooks Electric of Iron Mountain to start a project that could carry a cost approaching $100,000.

Controller Brian Bousley reported on the development at Monday’s county board meeting. The action was taken at a parks committee meeting Friday.

While the county is committed to a cost not to exceed $105,000, Bousley said there should be substantial savings through work done by county staff.

This is the first phase of a multiphase project to upgrade electrical service at the park, and will be aimed at preventing intermittent outages. The committee authorized purchasing supplies.

The board also approved an initial operating agreement with True North Outpost of Norway for kayak, paddleboard and bicycle rentals at Lake Antoine Park. Financial details have yet to be determined. Rentals may be provided under the business name Blue-Mystique.
