Niagara school lists date for facility planning information meeting
NIAGARA, Wis. — The School District of Niagara will be holding a community meeting regarding the district’s facility planning process. All community members are invited to participate in the interactive meeting on Wednesday, July 8 at 6 p.m. in the junior high and high school.
Last December, the district partnered with consultants to provide a professional analysis of the buildings and provide recommended updates and cost estimates. The district has spent the last six months prioritizing the needs of the building and creating a plan to address the most immediate needs while being good stewards of taxpayer money.
“Our team has done a great job maintaining our buildings but, like most districts, there is work that needs to be done that cannot be funded through our annual budget. Our hope is to find a solution that will continue to maintain the integrity of our buildings while being fiscally responsible to our taxpayers,” Superintendent Nate Burklund said.
Attendees will learn about the district’s planning process and provide feedback on the proposed solutions. The feedback from this meeting will guide the board of education’s future facilities planning as they consider a possible November 2020 facilities referendum.
For more information, call the district office at 715-251-4541 or email Burklund at nburklund@niagra.k12.wi.us.
