DCHS tightens visitor restrictions
IRON MOUNTAIN — Due to the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the region, Dickinson County Healthcare System has updated its visitor restrictions.
At this time, all visitors must have no symptoms of cold or flu and must wear a mask covering at all times, said Joe Rizzo, director of public relations and business development.
Visitors must be 18 years or older and meet these guidelines —
— For a terminally or critically ill patient: immediate family, spouse or significant other only.
— For a pediatric patient: parent, foster parent, or guardian of an individual under the age of 21.
— For an obstetrics patient: spouse, significant other or one support person, including a certified doula or midwife.
— Admitted inpatients: person accompanying an admitted inpatient specifically at the time of admission or discharge to assist.
Due to the highly contagious nature of COVID-19, any patients who are either persons under investigation or are confirmed positive COVID-19 will not be allowed visitors.
“These restrictions are temporary until the virus situation is stabilized,” Rizzo said. “Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while we remain focused on providing high-quality care.”
