Breitung Township Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire at 720 East Sagola Ave. in East Kingsford where bedding caught fire as a result of a child playing with a lighter, said Fire Chief Jeff Iverson. Nobody was injured and the fire was confined to the bedroom, where a child tried using a fire extinguisher, Iverson said. Two children and an adult escaped safely. Also responding were Integrity Ambulance, Kingsford Public Safety, Dickinson County Sheriff Department and Iron Mountain Police Department.
