Five arrested in Aurora drug raid

FLORENCE, Wis. — Five suspects were taken into custody and a Florence County deputy was treated for exposure to suspected fentanyl while executing a search warrant Thursday on East Fischer Lake Parkway in Aurora, Wis., Florence County Sheriff Dan Miller said.

The multi-jurisdictional investigation resulted in seizing drugs with an estimated $26,000 street value, including 130 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of heroin and a small amount of MDMA, or ecstasy, the sheriff said.

The deputy had Narcan administered after being exposed to suspected fentanyl while processing the site. He was treated at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and released.

“Please let this serve as a reminder of how dangerous these substances are,” Miller said in a news release posted on the department’s Facebook page.

Other agencies involved included the KIND drug team from Dickinson County, critical incident response teams from Florence and Dickinson counties, and Marinette County’s special response team.

Charges are pending, Miller said.
