Dickinson County has two more coronavirus deaths

Local health officials Monday reported two new coronavirus-related deaths and 37 new confirmed positives in Dickinson County since Wednesday but also 110 recoveries.

Iron County had nine new cases over the same period, along with 16 recoveries.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department on Monday listed Dickinson County at 2,027 confirmed positives and 196 probable cases, with 1,788 recovered, 66 deaths and 369 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD showed 780 confirmed cases and 52 probables, with 718 recovered, 34 deaths and 80 still active.

Across the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus data site Monday added 100 confirmed coronavirus positives since its last update Saturday: 40 in Menominee County; 22 in Marquette County; 11 in Chippewa County; nine in Houghton County; four in Dickinson and Delta counties; three in Alger County; two in Iron and Keweenaw counties; and one each in Gogebic, Mackinac and Schoolcraft counties. Gogebic, Houghton and Mackinac counties each had a single new death.

In total for the U.P., the data site Monday listed Keweenaw County at 75 confirmed cases and 15 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 127 confirmed cases and 68 probable; Alger County, 195 confirmed, 131 probable and one death, one probable; Schoolcraft County, 212 confirmed cases and 19 probable, three deaths and one probable; Mackinac County, 263 confirmed cases and 124 probable, three deaths; Ontonagon County, 278 confirmed, 31 probable and 15 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 472 confirmed cases, 86 probable and 28 deaths; Chippewa County, 603 confirmed cases and 867 probable, and 12 deaths, two probable; Gogebic County, 712 confirmed cases and 294 probable, 16 confirmed deaths and 23 probable; Iron County, 778 confirmed cases and 49 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and five probable; Menominee County, 1,495 confirmed cases, 233 probable and 25 deaths; Houghton County, 1,610 confirmed cases, 392 probable, 26 confirmed deaths and seven probable; Dickinson County, 2,025 confirmed cases and 192 probable, 54 confirmed deaths and 14 probable; Delta County, 2,503 confirmed cases and 418 probable, 60 confirmed deaths and 17 probable; and Marquette County, 3,179 confirmed cases, 431 probable and 51 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Monday has had 14,527 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 327 deaths.

The MDHHS on Monday reported 4,992 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in Michigan since Saturday for a total of 502,119. The state added 80 new deaths over two days to reach 12,678.

For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state’s COVID-19 data site Monday showed 10 new confirmed positives in Marinette County and eight in Vilas County.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday had Marinette County with 3,575 confirmed cases, 331 probable cases and 45 deaths; Vilas County, 1,617 confirmed, 67 probable and 21 deaths, two probable deaths; Forest County, 858 confirmed, 59 probable and 22 deaths, two probable; Iron County, 423 confirmed, 109 probable and 18 deaths, 17 probable; and Florence County, 399 confirmed, 26 probable and 12 deaths. As in Michigan, state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

Wisconsin added 1,407 new positives Monday for a total of 487,938 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The state recorded nine deaths Monday to reach 4,884.
