Finalists named for Florence County School superintendent
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County School Board has announced three finalists for superintendent: Gayle Luebke, Karl Morrin and Gereon Methner.
Luebke has been elementary principal at Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary School in Ontario, Wis., since 2012. Luebke has a doctor of education through Argosy University and her superintendent license through Edgewood College.
Morrin is assistant superintendent and pupil services director for the Menominee Indian School District in Keshena, Wis., and has served their district since 2014. Morrin has a master’s degree in educational leadership and certification for superintendent through Marian University.
Methner since 2015 has been high school principal at Gibraltar Secondary School in Fish Creek, Wis. He has a doctor of education through Bowling Green State University and is licensed as a superintendent.
Current Florence County School superintendent Ben Niehaus submitted his resignation Dec. 22 after accepting a position with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. Niehaus’ last day with the district will be June 30.
The school board and interview committee will conduct final interviews with the candidates Tuesday and Wednesday, with an offer of contract and negotiations to begin shortly thereafter. The new superintendent is expected to begin July 1.
