Man dies after motorcycle crash

MARINETTE COUNTY — A 35-year-old Armstrong Creek, Wis., man has died after being injured Tuesday in a motorcycle crash in Amberg, Wis.

The accident was reported about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday on Old 38 Road north of Dow Dam Road in Amberg, Marinette County Chief Deputy James M. Hansen stated in a news release.

An investigation indicated Krzystof Ciepalowicz lost control of the motorcycle on a curve while southbound on Old 38 Road, went into the ditch and was ejected, according to the news release.

Ciepalowicz reportedly was not wearing a helmet and appeared to have critical injuries when found by deputies. The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was notified of his death Thursday — the county’s second traffic fatality of 2021, the news release stated.

The crash remains under investigation. Deputies were assisted by Amberg Fire and Rescue, the Wausaukee Rescue Squad, Integrity Care EMS, Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, the Marinette County Dispatch Center and Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
