DIDHD: 20 confirmed new virus positives in Dickinson, 12 in Iron
Dickinson County also has 34 probable cases in past week
Local health officials Thursday morning reported 20 new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County and 12 more in Iron County in the past week.
In addition to the new confirmed positives, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department in its Facebook post listed 34 new probable coronavirus cases in Dickinson County. Iron County had 10 people considered recovered from the virus.
The DIDHD had Dickinson County at 2,474 confirmed positives and 400 probable cases, with 2,696 recovered, 72 deaths and 106 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 1,023 confirmed cases and 75 probables, with 1,020 recovered, 50 deaths and 28 active cases.
The DIDHD in June cut back to only one COVID-19 update a week when the pace of local coronavirus activity slowed.
No new Michigan statewide data was available Thursday, as the Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website is updated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
For the five Wisconsin counties in the region, the state Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 data site Thursday had six new confirmed positives in Forest County and three each in Marinette and Vilas counties.
The DHS COVID-19 data site Thursday had Marinette County with 4,361 confirmed cases, 535 probable cases and 68 deaths, seven probable deaths; Vilas County, 2,352 confirmed, 151 probable and 42 deaths, three probable; Forest County, 1,014 confirmed, 85 probable and 24 deaths, three probable; Iron County, 609 confirmed, 121 probable and 21 deaths, 21 probable; and Florence County, 460 confirmed, 59 probable and 13 deaths.
Wisconsin added 1,417 new positives Thursday for a total of 642,970 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to date. The state recorded four deaths Thursday to reach 7,503.
