First class days in the books

Iron Mountain and other area school districts in the Upper Peninsula started the 2021-22 academic year this past week. Students in Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools North Elementary preschool finished out their first few days of classes Friday afternoon learning name recognition by copying their name with foam letters onto construction paper — from left are Thea Fehrle, Auggie Tappy, Hudson Gendron and Chloe King. The students also drew a picture of themselves under their names. (Theresa Proudfit/Daily News photo)
