Man in custody after fatal stabbing in Marquette
MARQUETTE — Authorities have captured a man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Marquette early Sunday.
According to a Facebook post from the Marquette Police Department, the 38-year-old suspect, who was considered armed and dangerous, is in custody after a search.
The stabbing occurred at 1:03 a.m. in the 200 block of Furnace Street, according to MPD. The 61-year-old Marquette resident died a short time later at Upper Peninsula Health System-Marquette.
The MPD did not immediately provide further details on how the 38-year-old was located.
Marquette police were assisted by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, UP Health Systems EMS, Marquette Fire Department and the Northern Michigan University Police Department.
