Pie as a reward

Carli Kelly’s physical education classes at Norway School District raised funds for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart. On Friday, Kelly closed out the fundraiser by taking a pie in the face from students in early kindergarten through fifth grade who raised $150 or more — and there were nine kids. The school in all raised more than $2,500 for the American Heart Association. The top student fundraiser was Louis Parker with $300. Shown here is fourth-grade student Devon Nattiel-Loar taking his turn at Kelly. In back is Principal Rico Menghini, who dressed in a mouse costume to kick off March is Reading Month — all of the kids are reading “Stuart Little.” (Submitted photo)
