Thunderstorms on Thursday bring hail, down power lines
IRON MOUNTAIN — There is a chance of thunderstorms today into Saturday after storms swept through Thursday afternoon, bringing hail and knocking out power for hundreds of We Energies customers in Dickinson and Iron counties.
Rain is likely tonight, with new rainfall amounts of a quarter of an inch or more possible, according to the National Weather Service. Today’s high temperature could reach to near 90 degrees.
Saturday should be about 10 degrees cooler, with a 30% chance of precipitation.
As of 9:30 p.m. Thursday, about 225 We Energies customers were without service in Dickinson County, plus 170 in Iron County. The majority of outages were in townships.
Wisconsin Public Service reported 2,600 customers affected by outages Thursday night across northeastern Wisconsin.
