Master Gardener session planned

MARINETTE, Wis. — An Ask a Master Gardener presentation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Harmony Arboretum.

Master Gardener Sue Rich will instruct attendees how to make beautiful faux stone planters that are much lighter, weather resistant and durable. Decorative containers add interest to a garden and highlight plants but stone planters are often difficult to move.

Those who want to make a planter, should reserve a space by June 15 with Rich at rjicha13@gmail.com, or 715-927-5181. It is recommended that you wear old clothes or a large smock.

The planters need to cure and can be picked up at Harmony the following week. All are welcome to attend and learn how to can make unique planters for a patio or balcony.

The public is also invited to also learn about adaptive tools, techniques, and helpful hints to help them enjoy their time in the garden.

These are all especially useful for those with mobility issues. They will have a display of adaptive tools and a drawing for two wooden kneelers made by a Master Gardener.

This free event sponsored by Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association, Inc is open to the public and will be held at Harmony Arboretum, seven miles west of Marinette on Hwy 64, then 1/2 mile south on County Hwy E on the east side of the road.

Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions.

Starting at $4.00/week.
