Barbara Lefebvre

1935-2023

IRON MOUNTAIN — Barbara Ann Lefebvre, 88, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.

Barbara was born on Aug. 26, 1935, in Iron Mountain, to the late George and Lucy (Tramontin) Hoag.

She grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1953.

Barbara was best known as the Queen of Grand Blvd. on Iron Mountain’s Northside. She was born in a house on Grand Blvd, grew up on Grand Blvd, raised a family on Grand Blvd and lived out the rest of her life on Grand Blvd.

She had a passion for making good food, mainly ravioli and gnocchi, and had a talent of whipping up a great meal out of nothing. She enjoyed spending time with friends, “Coffee Clutching” with the Golden Girls, playing cards on Tuesday night and having family gatherings. She looked forward every year to ski jumps, and having coffee and a pasty with her friends at the Sugar Shack.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jane) Lefebvre, Dean (Sandi) Lefebvre, and Daniel Lefebvre; daughters, Denise Lefebvre, and Patricia (Thomas) Gryske; seven grandchildren, Michael (Kerry) Gryske, Eric (Cristina) Gryske, David (Heidi) Gryske, Breanna Lefebvre, Kyle (Valeria Fuentes) Lefebvre, Thomas (Cortni Greenleaf) Lefebvre, and Jacob (Samantha Wieman) Lefebvre; several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alice Carlson, Jean Hoag, Kathleen Micek, George Hoag, Raymond Hoag and Ralph Hoag; and her former husband, Gerald Lefebvre.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
