VA veteran enrollment events set next week

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will host two outreach events targeting veteran enrollment on Monday and Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, with Father Daniel Fosu to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. FLORENCE, Wis. — Julie A. Verrette, 85, of Florence, Wis., died on Saturday, May 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. She faced Parkinson’s disease with strength, patience and grace. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 221 W. B St., Iron Mountain, at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, preceded by visitation at noon. IRON RIVER — Gail Lynn Lennan, died on June 7, 2026, peacefully at her home after a long fight with cancer. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. The Nurses Honor Guard of Dickinson-Iron Counties will conduct honors following the visitation. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Stambaugh Cemetery with Fr. Daniel Fosu to officiate.
