Opposed to IM’s $16.9M plan for school projects

Not everyone receives the daily newspaper, so they are not aware of what the Iron Mountain School Board has in store for us. On Monday, Feb. 20, the Iron Mountain City Council met at 6 p.m. at Iron Mountain City Hall and I attended. They were patient with me and showed interest in my bringing up the Central School article and my concern regarding our ability to finance general obligation bonds of up to $16.93 million for a host of projects. Time to let ‘sun shine through’

Here we are in 2023, with some of us STILL hating each other for the color of the skin we happen to be born in or for the religion we happen to follow or the place our ancestors or ourselves may have come from. Immigrants can solve labor needs

Is there really a labor shortage? It seems to me that immigrants have been a significant part of our labor force, particularly in jobs that require significant physical skills, capability and endurance such as farm labor, mining, construction, and many other physically taxing jobs. Important race for Wisconsin Supreme Court

The 2023 Wisconsin Supreme Court race will decide the bench. Tuesday, a primary race will determine who will run for Supreme Court. Though the races are officially nonpartisan, candidates typically run as conservatives or liberals. The Florence County Republican Party is endorsing the two conservative candidates: Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow and former state Supreme Court justice Dan Kelly. Both are good choices. It’s been an enjoyable ride following sports through the years but like anything else all good things must come to an end and for me that end has come. The money that athletes are being paid in this day and age, including those in college, is just a little too much to take. The number one female gymnast at Louisiana State University would not disclose exactly how much money she is being paid through the name image likeness deals she has, but she did state that it is in seven figures.
