MSU women win NIT opener
EAST LANSING — Behind 19 points and nine assists from sophomore guard Taryn McCutcheon, the Michigan State women’s basketball teams defeated Cincinnati 81-75 in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Thursday.
Crystal Falls senior Lexi Gussert had two rebounds in nine minutes for MSU (18-13).
MSU will remain at home for the second round on Monday, facing either Toledo or Wright State.
