TECUMSEH — Kingsford fell to tournament host Tecumseh 14-4 in the quarterfinals Tuesday of the Little League 11-year-old baseball state tournament.

“The better team did not win today but the other team certainly wanted more than we did,” said Kingsford manager Dan Brown. “We had a great run. The boys played so good all week. It was just really disappointing the way it ended.”

State semifinals will be held today, with the finals on Wednesday.

“We have a great bunch of young men,” Brown said. “This one is going to sting for a little while. But I think we will learn from this and it will only make us stronger.”
