Three Lakes 65, Florence 45

FLORENCE, Wis. — Hot-shooting Three Lakes was too much for Florence to keep up with Thursday evening, as the Blue Jays claimed a 65-45 Northern Lakes Conference victory.

“The story of the game tonight was shooting, we didn’t hit our shots and they did,” Florence head coach Brad Perry said. “They hit about 12 three pointers, shooting at least 50 percent from long range, and we could not recover from it.”

Florence was led in scoring by Madison Neuens with 14 points, and she grabbed eight rebounds. Lacey Enders chipped in 11 points, also securing eight rebounds.

Perry also noted his team struggled from the free throw line on the evening, which is out of the norm for the Ladycats.

“Overall, the bucket simply wasn’t kind to us tonight, and they didn’t miss much,” Perry said.

Florence (4-7) remains home to host Lena on Monday night. Three Lakes also won the jayvee game, 38-11.

Three Lakes 27 38 — 65

Florence 21 21 — 45
