Clifford, Gyselinck combine for 42 in 64-19 victory
NORWAY — McKenzie Clifford canned a game-high 23 points, while Kassie Gyselinck netted 19 points as Norway cruised past Superior Central 64-19 here Tuesday night.
The Lady Knights (2-17) got out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
“We were able to dictate the pace of the game defensively from the start,” said Norway head coach Joe Tinti. “Superior Central never quit and were scrappy throughout the game. I am very proud of the girls and they deserved this one.
“I like how we came together tonight and played well. Everyone played tough defensively and it was nice to have Kali (Stanchina) back tonight. This team has never quit all year and earned tonight’s win.”
Stanchina had been in concussion protocol for the past few games.
Norway won the JV game, as coach Kevin Kangas team remains undefeated within the Skyline Central on the season.
