NORWAY — Justin Mondeik continued his streak of perfection at Norway Speedway Friday night.

Mondeik, of Gleason, Wis,. ducked underneath Cory Cootware of Iron Mountain for the lead and went on to capture the 35 lap late model feature at Norway Speedway Friday night. The victory was Mondeik’s third in as many nights in attendance at the third-mile, paved oval.

Mondeik, who started 10th on the grid, bided his time and patiently waded his way through traffic and caught the leader Cootware on lap 13 and passed him for the lead. Mondeik kept his cool through a couple of later caution periods to collect the win.

Cootware’s runnerup finish was his best here of the season, as was the third-place finish by former track champion Mark Schroeder of Green Bay, Wis.

Joey Pontbriand and Tanner Kelly placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Super stock point leader Ryan Wender padded his advantage at the top of the division standings with his second feature flag of the 2020 campaign. Marinette, Wis. racer Kevin Peterson posted his best finish of the year in second, followed by Andy Gerwig, fast qualifier Anthony Schiefelbein and Adam Faull.

Little Suamico, Wis. rookie Trevor Pankratz scored a popular feature win — leading every lap en route to his first stock division feature win.

Kingsford’s Brad Barglind captured the sport truck feature while Vulcan’s Jake Dulford scored a clean sweep in the stock four class.

Sands veteran Allen Yelle scored a pair of popular wins in the vintage modifieds, capturing both the heat and features.

Earlier in the night the 2020 class of Norway Speedway Hall of Fame inductees were ushered in. They included former racers Jamie Iverson of Escanaba, Mike Gardner of Gladstone, Mark Miller of Kingsford, Don Benoit of Escanaba, former track official Roger Deau and longtime DCRA employee Joyce Hansen.
