Rockets soar past Nordics

RAPID RIVER — Seven first half three-pointers, with Mason Kudlick draining four of them, propelled Rapid River past Skyline Central Conference foe North Dickinson, 65-37 here Tuesday night.

Maximus Mattson poured in a game-high 24 points for the Nordics in the loss.

“This game was played on the road, and they (RR) shot extremely well in their own gym, especially in the first half,” said Nordics head coach Chris Mattson.

“Maximus shot the ball real well. Our defense wasn’t what it had been the last couple of games,” Mattson added. “Rapid River out-rebounded us as well.”

Nordics senior Brennan Donaldson nearly had a double-double in assists and rebounds Mattson stated.

ND slips to 2-10 (2-9 SCC) on the season, and travels to Norway Thursday night for an SCC contest. The Knights defeated ND back on Feb. 23 at the Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium.
