Kingsford softball wins two
KINGSFORD — Kingsford registered softball victories over Rapid River, 11-2, and Norway, 2-1, on Saturday.
“We are currently 12-6 after this weekend,” Kingsford coach Corissa Rice said. “Our wins continue to be a full team effort with everybody contributing both offensively and defensively and our pitchers continue to put us in good positions to win games with minimal walks.”
Elaina Bortolini and Holly Richer toed the mound. Bortolini walked just two through eight innings and fanned four. Richer issued six free passes in seven innings and whiffed five.
Tegan Petschar keyed the win against Norway, collecting a pair of hits. Delaney Cram and Allie LaVarnway were credited with RBIs. Lizzy Cross and Grace Richer also had hits.
Cram and Macy Holmes each went 3 for 4 against Rapid River, while Richer and Petschar had two hits apiece.
