KINGSFORD — Nic Nora scored three touchdowns as Kingsford pounded Shawano, Wis., 45-18 in football action Friday at Flivver Field.

The Flivvers led 31-0 at halftime, taking advantage of numerous Hawks turnovers. The visitors managed 385 yards of offense, including 275 through the air, but were unable to seriously dent Kingsford’s advantage.

“We knew they were a good passing team,” said Flivvers coach Mark Novara. “The defense played really well and was able to keep them in check.”

Nora’s scores came in the first half — a 15-yard toss from Michael Meneguzzo, a 19-yard shovel pass from Meneguzzo, and a 73-yard punt return.

Diego Przeslakowski and Toby Wilcox led Kingsford’s ground game with 88 yards apiece. Przeslakowski scored on a 20-yard dash in the first quarter while Wilcox closed out the Flivvers’ scoring with a 49-yard jaunt in the fourth.

Meneguzzo, who scored on a 2-yard plunge in the third quarter, threw for 120 yards, completing 9 of 17. Nora caught five passes for 94 yards and Zach Person hauled in three for 22 yards.

Przeslakowski nailed a 33-yard field goal. His kickoffs kept the Hawks in difficult field position and he connected on all six extra-points.

Shawano (2-2) got a pair of touchdown passes from Carson Popp, but Nora picked off a pair in the first half as the Flivvers bult their early lead.

Kingsford (3-0) will travel to Marquette on Friday.
