Nordics hold off Eagles

FELCH TOWNSHIP — In three closely contested sets of Skyline Central Conference volleyball, North Dickinson defeated Stephenson, 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-21) Tuesday night at the Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium in Felch.

“Tonight was definitely a nerve-racking match with back and forth play all the way through,” said Nordics head coach Taylor Johnson. “It was a great team effort, and the girls played with great energy tonight.

Johnson noted that the Nordics recorded 98% serving in the match, missing only one serve in the entire three sets.

Statistically for the Nordics, Johnson pointed to Micah Lindholm with 5 kills, 2 blocks, Kassandra Cary with 5 kills, 4 blocks, Ashton Hord with 3 kills, 15 digs and Chrislyn Inglese with 4 kills and 20 digs.

“We also did a great job of communicating and spreading out or offense tonight,” Johnson added. “Stephenson has an outstanding libero that got to nearly every ball. I was very impressed with her play.”

Thursday’s match for North Dickinson at Superior Central, has been rescheduled to Monday, also at Superior Central. ND will then return home to welcome SCC foe Rapid River on Tuesday.
