Luke Gorzinski

HERMANSVILLE — The 2021-22 Skyline Central Conference boys basketball team has been announced after a meeting of league coaches on March 7 in Hermansville.

North Central junior Luke Gorzinski was the lone unanimous selection to the league’s first team, noting that Munising senior Jesse Duran was selected as player of the year.

Norway senior Nolan Amundson, Forest Park sophomore Gaven Rintala and North Central junior Connor Florenski joined Gorzinski on the first team.

Local players who were picked to the league’s second team included North Central senior Bradey Anderson, Norway sophomore Alex Ortman, Forest Park freshman Kevin Giuliani and North Dickinson sophomore Antonio Inglese.

Norway junior Michael Peterson was given honorable mention.

Peterson was named to the all-defensive team, which also included Gorzinski, North Central senior Trenton Naser and Forest Park sophomore Felix Quevedo.

North Dickinson was honored with the team sportsmanship award and Nordic senior Maximum Mattson earned the individual sportsmanship award.

Munising won the SCC Large School Division, while North Central captured the SCC Small School Division and had the league’s best overall record at 16-4.

In junior varsity competition, Forest Park won the Large School Division and North Central won the Small School Division.
