Menominee County tree hunter receives award in ReLeaf Michigan’s Big Tree Hunt
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ivan Laurin of Carney won a prize for reporting a potential state champion tree in Menominee County in ReLeaf Michigan’s Big Tree Hunt. The tree found is a swamp cottonwood in Carney that is 172 inches in circumference. Eighteen trees submitted for the contest qualified as new potential state champion trees. The potential state champion trees are forwarded to the state coordinator of the Michigan Big Tree Program, Ted Reuschel. The program considers additional criteria and scores them accordingly. EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — Trees for Tomorrow Environmental Education Center is seeking high school classes in Wisconsin and surrounding states to attend its multi-school programs for high school students. Pheasant numbers boosted for holiday hunts
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced the department will stock pheasant at 25 state properties in central and southern Wisconsin next week to increase hunting opportunities throughout the holiday season.
