As I step down from my position as county commissioner after 12 years of service, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared. Letter raises questions to Postmaster General DeJoy

On Thursday, U.S. Reps. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., and Emanuel Cleaver II, D-Mo., led a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, chastising the United States Postal Service for lowering its delivery standards for Fiscal Year 2025. The bipartisan letter was signed by eight members, who stressed the need for DeJoy to address these service issues within his agency, as millions of Americans depend on timely deliveries. “The American people deserve a Postal Service that is transparent, accountable, and committed to service excellence,” the members emphasized. It seems to me that the country took the one that has been much more frequently used. Taking the high road

Nothing worthwhile is easy in life and that includes our response to difficult situations, whether it be personal relationships, work, etc. ... No matter if insulted or unjustly treated in some other manner, our reply can determine how detrimental the effect of the situation is on us as human beings. I would answer that by looking at how the national values, honesty, and economic decisions that strive to keep a nation strong, and benefit all its people by lifting up those groups that greed and capitalism harms, elects honest leadership, and strives to treat all people with empathy and respect, and practice the humanity most churches preach every Sunday.
