Not so simple as just saying it

EDITOR: Just a quick thought and a reminder. You cannot declare yourself to be a medical doctor. You cannot declare yourself to be a five-star military officer. You cannot declare yourself a college graduate. You cannot even declare yourself to be a certified automobile mechanic. All these things must be earned by a declared and clearly understood program of actions. The same goes for declaring yourself an Evangelical. Even if you are a Bible salesman. Donald A. EDITOR: Is voting really important? The definition of democracy is a system of government where the power of governing is vested in the people through elected representation. A look back at his predictions

So, former President Donald Trump packed the U.S. Supreme Court. Are you saying, Mr. Miller (Letter to the Editor on March 12), that the Democrats would not pack the court with liberal judges? Remembering news carrier boys winning Chicago trip in 1953

On a Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 1953, I was 12 years old. The Iron Mountain News paperboys, who won a trip to Chicago, were being picked up and brought to The Iron Mountain News office. There were 20 winners. We earned points, 75 to qualify, adding new customers, and selling to customers subscriptions for magazines, four per month at 15 cents per week. I was picked up at Vivio’s store in Norway by Les, the paper bundle delivery guy, on his route to Powers. Along the way we picked up two other winners, one in Vulcan and another in Loretto.
