Time to end the property tax

EDITOR: When I first heard about the AxMITax proposal it sounded great to me, eliminate all property tax and no one would lose their property due to their failure to pay their taxes. This would be wonderful for the citizens of Michigan and I could easily support this. Then I began to hear and read of all the objections to this proposal, all the ways that our county would suffer if it were to pass. Concerned about levels of PFAS

We all deal with trying to buy foods that are not full of harmful chemicals, pesticides or herbicides to stay healthy. The large corporations don’t seem to care about the types of chemicals they use on products. Thousands of these chemicals are contained in PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), forever chemicals that do not break down and so far there is no way to completely clean up the water or land they pollute. EDITOR: On Monday, April 15, the AP reported in your paper that all the major news organizations signed on to a letter urging 2024 presidential and vice presidential debates. So far, only Donald Trump has publicly agreed that he wants to debate. EDITOR: This is a direct response to Gary Merrill’s latest letter (April 11), as there was much misinformation in his letter. Under President Joe Biden, the unemployment rate hit a half-century low of 3.4%. Former president Donald Trump’s lowest number was 3.5%. The unemployment rate stands currently at 3.7%.
