Thinking through impeachment

I see the House of Representatives is trying to impeach President Joe Biden no matter how specious their “evidence” against him is. It is probably going nowhere, but let us just for a moment consider that they do impeach him and that the Senate convicts him and he is out of office. That would be a big day for America. Hooray for President Kamala Harris, our first woman president and a woman of color to boot. Speak up against copper mine plan

I strongly oppose the Michigan Strategic Fund using $50 million in taxpayer revenue to fund the proposed Copperwood Mine, right next to both Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains. In addition to disrupting the area with noise and light pollution, subterranean blasting and heavy industrial traffic, they actually plan to mine underneath state park property. Copperwood would also be the closest metallic sulfide mine to Lake Superior in history, requiring the storage of 30-plus million tons of toxic waste on downward-sloping topography. Tuesday, March 12, is Equal Pay Day. In the U.S., this day represents how far into the year the average median women must work in order to have earned what the average median man had earned the entire previous year. For specific populations, the Equal Pay calendar looks quite different. Post office not using TRICO

My name is Brian Brouillette and I am the board president of TRICO Opportunities, a voluntary position. This is a letter to follow up my letter/article dated Feb. 13 that was published last month. On Feb. 27 more than 30 individuals delivered spoken comments to the Michigan Strategic Fund, voicing opposition to a proposed $50 million grant to Copperwood, a foreign company’s plan to open a metallic sulfide mine at the juncture of Lake Superior, Porcupine Mountains State Park, and the North Country Trail.
