SAY Soccer needs board members

The SAY Soccer 2024 season registration is open and will be closing March 10. Registration is $65 per participant for the 2024 soccer season. There is a late registration fee after the March 10 deadline; the cost increases to $75 and closes on March 17 as the absolute last day for registration, so please don’t hesitate to sign up your kids by going to www.saynml.org. A suggestion on stopping bullies

The United States Senate recently held hearings decrying social media as the culprit of children that have committed suicide because of bullying over the internet. Granted, I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow of the parents who have to suffer through the tragedy. However, these clowns in Washington yelling social media has “blood on their hands” makes for really great grandstanding but does not in any way get to the heart of the problem of bullying. Failure to act on border solution

Can one be on both sides of the same issue? I ask this because it appears to me that being for a Southern border solution and then claiming you are against one that was, as U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, D-Michigan, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has called on the United States Postal Service to provide further details regarding proposed changes to mail operations at its Iron Mountain Processing and Distribution Center in Kingsford. My name is Brian Brouillette and I am the board president (as an unpaid volunteer) of TRICO Opportunities in Kingsford. Our organization works with persons with disabilities within our local communities. We operate a paper and cardboard recycling center as part of our Skill Building Program to assist our program participants in developing work skills with the goal of obtaining jobs in the community. Camp Molinare now a non-profit

The Camp Molinare Board has received notice that its 501(c)(3) application has been approved. The board was surprised how quickly the approval came through. As stated on the letter from the IRS, the effective date of the 501(c)(3) is Dec. 19, 2023, and all donations are now tax deductible to the extent of the law. This is the first step for us to begin looking for donations and grants. Many of us spent memorable time at Camp Molinare. We hope to keep it alive for the next generation.
