Ringle to address Golden K Club Monday

KINGSFORD — The Golden K seniors are always ready to tackle what the day presents. Most enjoy beginning the day with their normal routines. As the song goes “Rise, and Shine and give God the Glory.” Sometimes that’s easier said than done.

The snow plows clearing roads Monday made “rise and shine” a challenge. We share gratefulness and glory since there was no flooding, and the roof was still on the house. Things could be worse and the snow will eventually melt.

The Golden K meeting Monday was canceled because of school delays and road conditions. The Kingsford Concert Choral group, with Director Ben Sherk, was the intended program. They have a busy schedule, so an alternative date could not be set.

On April 24, the Iron Mountain High School Jazz Band performed for the Golden K. It was a blessing having these students and director Craig Recla share their musical ability. These teenage students are dedicated to their music and singing. They practice on their own time early in the mornings. Five days each week, they meet at 7 a.m. They participate in competitions and concerts throughout the school year, which ends May 26. These are joyful, busy people.

Golden K thanks the schools, staff, parents and students for the times they join our meetings and share their talents. We look forward to next year and hope the weather cooperates.

Happy Birthday wishes go to Anna Vincent on May 6; Ron Jouppi on May 7, and Diane Aune on May 8. Congratulations to Candy Buchcuski’s granddaughter, who recently graduated from Michigan Technological University.

The Golden K plans to be back on schedule Monday. The group will meet at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. The program will feature Jonathan Ringel, executive director of the YMCA.

Starting at $3.50/week.
