Stamp club meets Tuesday in Iron Mountain

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain, between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Post 145 breakfast Nov. 26

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hashbrown potatoes, toast and and fruit salad, plus coffee, milk and juice as beverages. Cost is $9 per person; children 6 and younger can eat for free. Everyone is welcome. The public should note the post will not serve breakfast in December. The post is at 612 Main St., Norway.

Caspian Gifts from Santa raffle underway

CASPIAN — The Caspian Progressive Men, in conjunction with the Iron County Golden K, will again sell Gifts From Santa raffle tickets at $5 per ticket, as they have done for the past 25 years. The prizes are great again this year, with the vast majority of them $100 cash prizes, according to raffle organizers. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to provide the more than 200 residents of the Iron County Medical Care Facility, the Iron River Care Center and The Boyington House with a practical Christmas gift distributed during their annual Christmas party. Cribbage tourney Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 of Iron Mountain will host a monthly cribbage tournament Saturday, with games to start at 1 p.m. Cost is $20 a team, 25 cents for a 19 hand.
