Yoga With or Without a Chair offered in 2 locations

FLORENCE, Wis. — Yoga With or Without a Chair will continue be offered at NWTC through a partnership with ADRC and Public Health of Florence County.

Based on participant feedback, yoga also will now be offered at the Florence County Resource Center.

The program is appropriate for both sedentary and active adults. The chair provides extra support for those who may need it but it is not required. The classes are open to all adults.

Classes will continue to be held at NWTC in Aurora, Wis. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Slow Flow 9 to 10 a.m., and Chair Yoga 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. from Tuesday until April 29.

Class at the Florence Resource Center will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m on Wednesday until April 14.

The cost is $5 per session to be paid at each class.

Research supports that a major cause of obesity, premature death, and a myriad of chronic conditions are related to high levels of stress, a poor diet and inadequate physical activity.

Yoga instructor, Lynn Mueller, is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and has had personal success in participating and leading yoga classes. She is a graduate of Florence High School and now owns the icanyoga2 studio.

If you are interested in participating in the yoga classes, please contact the Florence County Aging and Disability Center at 715-528-4890 to sign up.
