Crivitz Veterans Memorial receives Crivitz Area Fund grant
CRIVITZ, Wis. — The Crivitz Business Association has been dedicating time and resources to creating a memorial that will recognize those from the greater Crivitz community who gave their lives in service to our country in times of war.
The memorial also will recognize those who have served in our nation’s military.
The CBA recently was awarded a $1,200 grant from the Crivitz Area Fund, through the M&M Area Community Foundation, toward construction of this memorial.
The memorial will be built in Crivitz Community Veterans Park. It will contain flags and monuments recognizing each branch of military service. It will have a re-creation of the World War II Honor Roll. This display listed all the names of those from their community who were serving during that war. A stone monument recognizing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and those who served in Vietnam will be a part of the memorial as well.
The key feature of the memorial will be a monument honoring the 12 area individuals who have died in past wars helping preserve the freedoms enjoyed as Americans.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication of the memorial at Crivitz Community Veterans Park will take place at 11 a.m. May 31, Memorial Day. The park is at Henriette Avenue and Park Street in Crivitz.
The Crivitz Business Association is an organization of Crivitz area businesses dedicated to improving the business climate in the village.
