Events at the Crystal Falls library
CRYSTAL FALLS –The Crystal Falls District Library will have a summer reading program for six different age groups: babies, toddlers, preschoolers, ages 5 to 8, ages 9 to 12, and teens and adults.
To register, call 906-875-3344 or email egathu@uproc.lib.mi.us, so the library can have enough materials available. For more information and schedules, go to the website at joomla.uproc.lib.mi.us/CrystalFalls/.
The library also has a Summer Scares Virtual Book Club patrons can join. There are three levels for this club: middle readers, young adult and adult. A book will be read each month, then participants can meet with the author on Zoom to discuss it. Call or email to join, or stop by the library to pick up the first book. A brochure can be found on the website for more information.
The U.P. Notable Book Club continues throughout the summer. At 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, they Zoom with the author of the book for that month. The summer selections are: “Cady and the Bear Necklace,” by Ann Dallman for June; “Lake Superior Tales,” by Mikel B. Classen for July; “Go Find,” by Susan Purvis for August; and “I Spy … Isle Royale,” by Susanna Ausema for September.
