CRYSTAL FALLS — The annual Forest Park Academic Boosters Pasty Sale will be Friday during the Humongous Fungus Fest.

Pasties will be available for pre-order until Thursday by calling the school at 906-214-4695, ext. 216, and leaving a message with name, phone number and the number of pasties being purchased.

A limited number of pasties also will be available without a pre-order during the sale, and will be hot and ready to eat. Pick up will be at the United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per pasty.

The sale earns money the boosters use to support educational activities at Forest Park throughout the school year, such as: the junior class college trip downstate, the regional and state Business Professionals of America competition, field trips for classrooms and academic clubs and SAT testing materials.

In addition, they provide funds for extra items that are requested by middle and high school teachers that are not paid for by the general fund.

Their biggest event of the year is the Excellence in Education banquet to honor the top 10 seniors and a chosen mentor at the end of the school year. Over the past two years, the boosters have also hosted a bowling and pizza party for middle school and high school students that are on the honor roll.
