MARSP awards three mini-grants
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel recently awarded three mini-grants of $125 each to local educators for the purchase of materials.
Recipients were: Amber Hanson, Kingsford Middle School; Theresa Proudfit, Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools; and Kaitlyn Ware, Vulcan Middle School.
Hansen, who oversees the Responsibility Room at Kingsford Middle School, will use the mini-grant to purchase software for newsletters from the Responsibility Room.
Proudfit, preschool teacher at North Elementary School in Iron Mountain, will use the mini-grant to purchase books, puzzles and play items for students to learn about different cultures.
Ware, beginner band instructor at Vulcan Middle School, will use the mini-grant to purchase extendabones for use by trombone players.
MARSP, an organization comprised of retired school personnel, is proud to provide these grants to area educators to help them purchase materials which, due to budgetary restraints, might not otherwise be available to their students.
